Claire Tennant is a Central Victorian based artist, with a varied background in industrial design, film, TVC, Stop- motion animation, foundry casting and education.
For close to 20 years, Claire has operated her own mould- making and casting business, Claire Tennant Workshop;  where she has built a reputation as one of Australia's leading mould-making and casting specialists.
 
Claire’s personal practice features the complicated process of 'Life-casting'; creating a mould directly from a person.
All elements of the compositions are cast in place, as they appear.
 
Through her work, Tennant invites the viewer to focus their gaze on the deeply intimate, ephemeral moments in life as they appear to a cross-section of unique individuals.
