Laurel Sloan is a talented and celebrated contemporary artist exhibiting her unique vision in a surrealist style.
Laurel’s education includes; Bachelor of Visual Art (BVA) Adelaide Central School of Art, Bachelor of Arts, (BA) Victoria University and Victoria College of Arts majoring in Painting and Sculpture.
Following her formal studies Laurel has had the opportunity to take further tuition from Michelle Cathiness, Dan Butterworth and Greg R Smith and now allows herself to apply a versatile skill set and a deep understanding of artistic principles.
Laurel’s current artwork is characterized by a blend of realism and surrealism. Her paintings often depict unique scenes and imaginative landscapes that transport viewers to other worldly realms.
Laurel’s latest work explores automatic drawing techniques which often provoke medical forms into the compositions. These works evoke a sense of introspection, inviting viewers to contemplate their connection to the mysteries of existence.
Laurel Sloan’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries and art institutions around Australia and she has received many prizes and accolades.
Laurel Sloan is also known for her commitment to promoting arts education and supporting emerging artists. She actively participates in community art initiatives, workshops, and mentorship programs, sharing her expertise and inspiring others.
