Melbourne based artist, originally from the USA. After retiring after a career in IT, I devoted myself full time to my arts practice. I have been an active member of the Open Studio at The Art Room in Footscray for over 10 years, attending numerous courses and workshops in drawing and painting fundamentals and advanced lessons in colour theory, life drawing, composition and abstractions among others.

Since picking up a pencil as a toddler Valerie has continued drawing. Living in South Gippsland for several years and painting full time she entered many shows and won awards throughout Gippsland. A move back to Melbourne meant a disruption to her full-time art, however she undertook private commissions.
